Commentary on the radical "彳" or "行"
Many of the kanji with the radical "彳" or "行" are related to going, road and city.
I note that although "彳" and "行" are originally two separate radicals, they often share the same form and meaning, so they are explained together.
e.g.
径 → 彳 + 圣
"彳" represents the road.
The part of "圣" means straight.
From the above, it means a straight, short-distance road, i.e., a pathway.
街 → 行 + 圭
"彳" represents the road or the city.
The part of "圭" represents a ball with a pattern of vertical and horizontal lines.
From there, it means a city with vertical and horizontal roads or streets with them, like the pattern of "圭".
