【一】Ichi
Commentary on the radical "一"
The radical "一" has no specific meaning.
It was established for the purpose of lexical classification.
e.g.
世 → 十 + 十 + 十
Originally, the three "十" together meant "thirty, thirty years, or a long passage of time."
This meaning was then transformed to express the meaning of "society."
丕 → 不 + 一
The "不" denotes a "swollen ovary of plants."
The meaning of the word has been transformed to represent "large."
However, since "不" came to be used for negatives, it was distinguished by the addition of "一".
This kanji "丕" means "large."
However, we do not use this kanji in our daily lives.
