【礻】Shimesu-hen【示】Shimesu
Commentary on the radical "礻" or "示"
Many kanji with the radical "礻 or示 (Shimesu-hen, Shimesu)" are related to gods, rituals, and the disasters and blessings they inflict.
The part of "礻" used today is a form based on the old writer's form.
e.g.
祝 → 礻 + 儿 +口
The "儿" is a shape of "a person kneeling down".
The part of "口" has the meaning of "a prayer".
Together, the three represent the meaning of "praying for and celebrating happiness".
神 → 礻 + 申
The part of "申" is an image of "lightning". It represents "the God of heaven".
The addition of the radical "礻" indicates the meaning of "God" in general".
