【米】Kome-hen
Commentary on the radical "米"
Many kanji with the radical "米" are related to various types of rice and grains, their properties, and the food products made from them.
e.g.
粋 → 米 + 卆(卒)
The part of "卆(卒)" means "complete, perfect".
The two together represent "perfectly polished rice".
It was then turned to mean "unmixed".
粉 → 米 + 分
The part of "分" means "divide (into)".
The two together represent "crushed rice".
In other words, it means "powder".
