Commentary on the radical "馬"
Many kanji with the radical "馬" are related to various types of horses, the names of horse-like animals, the condition of horses, handling horses, etc.
e.g.
駅 → 馬 + 尺(睪)
The part of "尺" is a simplified version of the "睪".
The part of "睪" means "to tug one after another".
Together, the two represent "a place prepared for riding horses one after another, one after another".
In modern times, it means "station".
駐 → 馬 + 主
The part of "主" means "to stay".
The two together represent "a horse standing still".
In other words, it means "to stay".
