Commentary on the radical "走"

The radical "" means to run.
Many Kanji with "" as a radical are related to movements such as walking, running, going, etc.

e.g.

赴 →  走 + 卜

The part of "" stands for running.
The part of "" stands for divination.
The two together represent divination, the instantaneous running of a crack in the instep.
In general, it represents the meaning of going quickly on one's feet.

起 →  走 + 己(巳)

The part of "" means to walk, run, or go.
The part of "" means to kneel.
The two together represent kneeling and standing up.
