Commentary on the radical "丶"
The radical "丶" has no particular meaning.
It is a radical used to classify kanji characters by shape.
e.g.
丹
The kanji "丹" is a hieroglyphic character.
It represents the shape of a well from which cinnabar is mined.
It means "red."
主
The kanji "主" is a hieroglyphic character.
It is an image of a fire burning on the plate of a fire-lighting stand.
It represented a still flame.
It has come to mean "something that stays still and does not move, a central presence, or a master."
